b. 2 out of every 9 children will be abused over the next 20 years, or over 17,000,000 of our country's children. Only half will ever be reported. This is due to the molester using threats to the child or against the child’s family, making the child feel “guilt” and as if it is there fault, another reason may be the molester tells the child this is how love is shown.

B. Recovery and Treatment.
1. Recovery.
a. Depends on the duration, frequency, and magnitude of the abuse; the degree of force used; and the relationship of the abuser to the child.

2. Treatment.
