The United States of America have always declared their condemnation and their war against these terrorist acts anywhere in the world and when 9/11 occurred, the country furthermore gave it a more intense force and conviction to obliterate these groups of extremists.

America was successful in Afghanistan, where Osama Bin Laden and Mullah Omar fled from after the Taliban was defeated and a new government was put together and appreciated by the people. As told by Rushdie, “America did what had to be done in Afghanistan and did it well”.  States that offered a safe haven for terrorists are now being friendly to America and even Britain is vacillating in allowing entry to some of these groups. Despite all of these, of which people should be grateful for, the assent of some anti-Americans occurred.

This became a badge of identity for America since others like Britain and Europe were envious of what America is capable of and has accomplished. The Arab and Muslim countries were forced to face their powerlessness which caused the rise of anti-Americanism. Hatred for America emerged because they saw their own weaknesses and inadequacies, now likewise serving as a façade of the Muslim countries for their “…corruption, incompetence, oppression of their citizens and their economic, scientific and cultural stagnation” (Rushdie).America is accused of things that the accusers are even most guilty of.

America’s drive to free the world from terrorism gives the oppressed people the hope of having a secured life from the terrible danger of losing their lives anytime, anywhere.America should continue what they are doing and exercise their power responsibly where it is much needed since there is always “a risk of losing after winning” and this is a fact that we don’t want to happen for the safety of our children.REFERENCEMcCuen-Metherell, J.R.
