Awesome, full of joy, and unforgettable are words to describe on that field trip last Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Naga City, Camarines Sur.

It was not my first time to go there, besides I’m from Camarines Sur. I’ve been there since I was a child. During my elementary and secondary years, we also had educational tour or field trip there and visited those places exactly where we had our stops. It’s just, it made different because I went there with my new friends and classmates and besides, it was not beautiful as now.

Aside from what we had learned about historical events, we developed camaraderie between us – students. We also developed good rapport and relationship among us.When we were travelling, there were 2 persons namely Kuya Law and Ate Shie, an OJT, who guided us in our tour. They discussed to us all about Bicol Region, which was one of the reasons why we did not feel any boredom.

The most interesting part of their discussions for me is that the wishing bridge in Guinobatan which I heard for the first time. They said that we must not breathe when passing the bridge so that our wishes would come true. And yes! I did what they say, but unfortunately, I did not make a wish. (HAHAHAHAHHA) I forgot to.

Another reason why I did not feel boring is that, we played Pinoy Henyo inside the bus and had our “banat” to have fun. It’s three and a half hour trip to travel going Legazpi to UNC, Naga – first destination.University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) is one of the biggest universities in Camarines Sur. We went there because of their museum.

I saw different pictures and portraits hanged in the wall. The materials used in Ancient Period were also found there like jars, samurai, and different costumes in Thailand, Japanese, Chinese, etc.Our second destination is Holy Minor Seminary. It is located right beside Naga Cathedral.

Museum there was not big as UNC Museum. I saw the materials used during Yuan/Sung, Ming, Ching Dynasty, Anamnese and Siamese Neolithic Period and other more. There, I saw the old map of the Bicol Region placed on the wall, old pulpit where a member of clergy stands in order to read the gospel and deliver a sermon. I saw the old church organ, different Saints, and the old books and dress used by bishops. Our third stop/destination is Basilica Minore.

We prayed and touched the image of Inang de Penafrancia. I prayed and thank Ina for giving us good health, fine weather and for our safety. After which, we went to Penafrancia Resort – our fourth destination. Though my friends and I did not swim, we enjoyed.

Some of my classmates and friends had swum for about 3 hours while me and my friends preferred to take pictures there. We had strolled to view the beauty of the resort and played in the park. We left there around 3:20 P.M.

and went to SM Naga – last destination. Although we had no more money, we had window shopping and had our snacks there. We had there for about one and a half hour. That was a tiring day for me yet enjoyed. We were so tired in fact some of us preferred to sleep while travelling home.

But others preferred to sing laugh and tell stories with their seatmates. Lastly, HOME SWEET HOME! I thank God, I arrived home safe and to think until now, what we experienced in the Educational Tour is more than enough than P 500.00 !!!
