Sources of Information: * Own knowledge * Educational visit to the club * Huddersfield Town Football Club website and copies of company policies * Forms of communication the club use eg programmes, emails, forms of advertisements, newspaper articlesTask 1 P7 – Produce a PowerPoint Presentation that outlines methods of communication including electronic and non-electronic methods. Also include the type of audience for each form of communication. P1 – Create a report using Microsoft Word incorporating a WOVEN table. Investigate HTFC and explain in your report the different forms of business information they use, where this information comes from (the source) and the purpose of the business information.

M1 – Extend your report to include the following. Analyse (consider the advantages & disadvantages) the types of information HTFC use. Is the information current and easy to understand? Could it have been obtained from a better source, or in a more efficient manner? D1 – To gain this criterion you need to extend your report and evaluate the appropriateness of business information that HTFC uses to make strategic decisions. You need to consider how effective the information has been in helping HTFC to meet its aims. Consider HTFC’s aims: increasing sales, profits, fan numbers, reputation etc and state how the information used helps the club meet their aims.

Task 2 P2 – Select three pieces of complex information from HTFC and present the information in three different ways: * Create a verbal presentation on the club’s history and how they operate as a business * Data (fan numbers, sales/profit figures) presented in a spreadsheet/graph format * Leaflet explaining HTFC’s services eg to the community, corporate eventsInclude a written piece that explains the purpose of each type of document and the audience it is presented to eg fans, shareholders, players, staff, communityP3 – create three forms of communication for HTFC: * A new logo/livery * A new mission statement * Leaflet/brochure promoting the clubP4 – Select two pieces of communication HTFC use, for example, their website, match programme, leaflet etc. Create a presentation with speaker’s notes that explains how effective these are in enabling HTFC to meet its aims. D2 - Select an organisation of your choice - one that you feel has excellent communication systems. Write an evaluative report on both organisations; compare the information they use and their communications with HTFC – why are they better than HTFC? You must include illustrative examples.

Task 3P5 – In a report explain how HTFC comply with their legal obligations in relation to the use of business information – how do they interpret the Data protection Act 1998, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Computer Misuse Act. How does HTFC deal with ethical issues; for example, rules for staff use of the Internet, sending emails and ‘whistle blowing’. You must obtain copies of the company policies, these need to be included as evidence in your appendix when you submit your workP6 – In a report explain how HTFC make their information secure, comply with the Health & Safety aspects of holding information, future ICT requirements and the training of staff.

M2 – Extend your report by analysing (consider the advantages & disadvantages) how HTFC meet their legal and operational obligations in relation to the use of business information using appropriate examples.
