Entertainment has provided society with an escape from reality, which at times can be very stressful and chaotic.

Certain forms of entertainment have overtaken the lives of society as a whole and it seems all morality has been lost and sucked into this world of entertainment. In my opinion, I think that entertainment can easily "change" society by mimicing bad behavior/leaders, not having enough time for education, and watching the wrong movies/tv shows. Some people will watch or do something just because everybody else is doing it.In video games, such as Grand Theft Auto, it's okay to shoot someone and steal their car, but it's not okay to do that in "real" life.

Spend your life playing that one game and it eventually becomes reality, and reality is only a game. When young children are exposed to the wrong lessons, their imagination will take them somewhere that they've never been before. What about when young children, boys in particular, are watching tv shows such as World Wrestling Entertainment? They've discovered the wrong role models to look up to. If their role model is John Cena, they're going to want to be just like him. They'll think that violence is the way to solve situations.

If children and teenagers fill all of their time with entertainment, they won't have any time for education. It's so distracting if they like doing their homework while watching television, nothing will stick to their brain. Their brain will be doind so many things at one time, so they won't be able to focus on their homework.Marshall McLuhan said, "Anyone who tries to make a distinction between education and entertainment doesn't know the first thing about either.

" You cannot compare entertainment and education, because they have nothing in common at all. You're either taking your time learning something new everyday, or you're either wasting your time distracting yourself with entertainment. What about when people are exposed to the wrong movies and tv shows? Keeping up with the Kardashians, shows that their all about money, and having the "look", so pretty much the whole package. How can somebody look up to one of the Kardashians they'll think that they need the "whole package" to be in their position, when really that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, not all movie/tv shows are made to "change" society.

I honestly think that some movies/tv shows that were made are so inspiring in so many ways. When directors make a violent movie, that leads to people wanting to kill more and more everyday when they're exposed to these kinds of movies. James B.Weaver III said, "Two recently published studies show that prolonged exposure to gratuitous violence in the media can escalate subsequent hostile behaviors and, among some viewers, foster greater acceptance of violence as a means of conflict resolution. " Even though entertainment has the capacity to "change" society, it has impacted each and every one of our lives, greatly. Entertainment has the capacity to "change" our society by mimicing bad behaviors, not having enough time for education, and watching the wrong movies/tv shows.

Perhaps, if we do something about it, civilization will be able to grow and evolve until we achieve.
