After school, I always thought of going to the college.

The college offers a window to the external world. There I would meet the most ignited minds of our entire population. It is in college that the natural capabilities of the individuals are fine tuned and given expression to. It is here that the direction of life takes shape. And, it is here that the most weird and most exciting ideas take birth.

In any country the future of the nation is shaped by the youth of the present time. And the future of this youth is shaped at the colleges. It’s a known fact that a youngster becomes independent in his college days. I do have a vision for my life and for my beloved country. Like many of the great men who contributed to the nation building in various fields, in their own way, I would also like to do my part in making this country and the planet a better place to live. I would like to acquire the specialist knowledge that I wish to, during my college studies that would enable me to go forward in achieving my mission.

In the college I could meet as many different characters as the number of students there would be.They would be from different cultural back grounds, class, ethnicity, and may be speaking different languages. But the desire to acquire essence of the life would make us the birds of the same feather. I have some personal as well as some general reasons to go to college. The general reasons include socialization, getting to know the people, getting deeper knowledge of the chosen study subjects, knowing to do things in better ways and above all to become a good human being.

As for the personal reasons, the most important of them is that I want to do well in my life. The college will provide me the opportunity of all round development in my character, my knowledge, interpersonal skills, time management skills etc. The other reasons are the prospective employment, social status, wider exposure, and enhancement of the cognitive skills. As the childhood experiences and the environment affects the formative years of the child, the college years would influence the mature men. The college, in a wider sense, is a mini universe. There you get a chance to gain the knowledge acquired or developed by other people.

They may be your contemporaries or may have lived before you. They, in order to achieve the success, had to forgo many personal pleasures and worldly possessions. They could become such great men or women because they thought they could positively contribute to the betterment of the world and its people. For me, their life shows me the path to follow. I have an ignited mind and want to contribute to the world as they did.

The college, I hope, will provide me the foundations and the required knowledge and experience to begin that journey. The fast changing face of he world and development of newer technologies have opened up many an opportunities for the people in acquiring knowledge, earning fame and money, providing world wide exposure and innovative avenues which were hitherto unthinkable or unavailable. Internet is such a tool. The advancement of computer softwares and artificial intelligence are some others.. My inquisitive behavior makes me a suitable candidate to start my college career in search of great knowledge and greater possibilities.

My mind is open to newer ideas and I have the skills such as self discipline, self organisation, a strong desire to succeed, good interpersonal skills are my strengths and I am highly articulate and persuasive. These skills I hope, will guide me through my college years. My college years would me marked by my missionary seal to get to the bottom of the knowledge I seek to gain. I would schedule my study time in such a way that I could gain maximum knowledge by studying smarter and harder.I would be looking upon my peers as a means to develop and augment my skills. The available avenues to develop the art and sports skills will never be left unutilized.

The faculties available at the college will be of immense help for further guidance. I will also be a facilitator for other students to improve their knowledge and skills. I am a great believer in myself and would provide enough reasons to my colleagues to become one. I would seek out company of all and sundry to make my vision for a better contribution to my country and its people.

The main challenges I foresee that I will have to encounter at the college is the prospects of inadequacy in faculties and facilities. If apply my mind and choose a reputed college I could over come those problems, because almost all the reputed institutions lay great stress on good faculties and related research facilities and libraries. Attending a community college, for example, would be good choice if I want do that by spending only a reasonable amount. The other obstacle would be the study teaching environments. This could vary from uninspiring to chaotic college atmospheres.

But I know that as long as I am focused on my mission to do well and succeed in life these distractions would not have much effect on my study schedule. Another of troubles I may have to encounter at the college would be the indifferent or destructive attitude of other students. This is would actually be a blessing in disguise. Here I can employ my reasoning and persuasive skills fully to help them mend their ways. I do not, in the process, want to become a preacher.I want to become a doer.

I want become a doer of things, who can demonstrate that the life would be much better if they are done in proper way. I will be a positive force even amidst the most negative thoughts. The college is place where you can build a right attitude which will shape your future life and its success. It is the place where you get the coaching for your later life.

The good and bad experiences will become a strong foundation for the decisions you make about yourself and my endeavor will always be to pick up the good ones.
