Most notably was a lack of communication and integration between the different intelligence agencies. Employees within the FBI and the CIA purposefully kept intelligence out of the hands of each other to specifically increase the recognition of their respective agencies. 2 Because of this, failures of communication within the Intelligence community were quite common.
